Primary clarifiers

Primary clarifiers are tanks for the mechanical settling of wastewater. They settle large solids and organic impurities from the water, while light materials such as fats and foams collect on the surface.

This process allows the removal of 30 to 70% of insoluble impurities before the next stages of treatment. Primary clarifiers reduce the load on biological plants and increase the overall efficiency of the treatment system.
