Polymer stations

Polymer stations

Polymer stations are specialized equipment for preparation, dosing and feeding of polymer reagents (flocculants), which are used in wastewater treatment and sludge dewatering processes.

The main task of such stations is increasing the efficiency of sedimentation and condensation of contaminants, which allows to significantly improve the operation of sedimentation tanks, flotation tanks and dehydrators.

In the process of wastewater treatment, small particles (colloids, organics) do not settle on their own. To remove them, polymers are used that:

Without polymer stations, the efficiency of many purification stages is significantly reduced.
The operation of the polymer station consists of several stages:

  1. Dry or liquid polymer feed
    The reagent is fed into the mixing tank.
  2. Solution preparation
    The polymer is mixed with water to the required concentration.
  3. Exposure (activation)
    The solution is aged to fully reveal the properties of the polymer.
  4. Dosage
    The finished solution is fed by dosing pumps into the technological process (for example, before a flotation device or dehydrator).

Main elements of the station

A typical polymer station includes:

Many modern stations operate in fully automatic mode, which minimizes operator involvement.

Types of polymer stations

1. For powder polymers

  • dry reagents are used;
  • require precise dosing and mixing;
    the most common option.

2. For liquid polymers

  • easier to operate;
    the solution is prepared faster;
  • often used on small objects.

3. Compact (modular)

  • take up little space;
    suitable for small
  • treatment facilities;

Benefits of using

Features of operation

For the effective operation of the polymer station, it is necessary:

Incorrect dosage may lead to overconsumption of reagents or reduced cleaning efficiency.

Polymer stations are used:

Polymer stations are a key element of modern treatment facilities. They ensure efficient use of reagents and significantly improve the quality of wastewater treatment and sludge dewatering. Thanks to automation and dosing accuracy, such systems allow to optimize costs and ensure stable operation of the entire treatment complex.
